Ownership: You must own the computer (or have the permission of the owner) that you bring in for repair(s). You must own and demonstrate ownership of any software that is to be installed or re-installed on your computer by providing the original software CDs and the appropriate keys and/or serial numbers.
Programs: Repairs and optimizations may require the addition or removal of software. It is understood and accepted that Your I.T. Guy Services can add or remove programs as necessary to complete the repair and/or optimization of the computer. You can obtain a list of any programs used or removed by request before or after work is completed.
Privacy: Our computer technicians will not browse through your hard drive looking at your data; however, they may inadvertently see data during the course of their work. Please remove any personal or private files you do not want others to see.
Right to Refuse: In its sole discretion, Your I.T. Guy Services reserves the right to refuse work that it believes is beyond the scope of its ability or for other good cause.
Hardware Replacement: Any old hardware will be returned to you upon request when you receive your repaired computer. We will dispose of any unwanted hardware using environmentally correct methods free of charge. All data from old hard drives will be properly erased.
Liability: Your I.T. Guy Services shall under no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage, expense or injury of any kind. Whether direct, consequential or otherwise, arising in connection with the execution of a contract or the use or failure of the goods supplied or any defect in them, or from any other cause whether or not due to the acts or omissions of Your I.T. Guy Services, its staff, contractors, or its agents, in excess of the contract invoice value. Be aware that certain repairs [including, but not limited to, malware removal] may damage software and/or data installed on your computer. This is to be expected due to the nature of the malware’s destruction and may require the re-installation of your operating system, programs, and data. It is also understood that Your I.T. Guy Services may void manufacturer warranties and Your I.T. Guy Services does not assume the product(s)’ liability and/or warranty in the event that the manufacturer warranties are voided.
Loss of Data: It is your responsibility to ensure that prior to Your I.T. Guy Services starting work on your computer system or other electronic installation, that all critical data has been backed up, and that appropriate recovery procedures are in place. It is your responsibility to back up all files and folders. Your I.T. Guy Services cannot accept liability for any loss of data and/or information during any repair, upgrade or diagnosis. You may request that Your I.T. Guy Services back up your data for you at the stated price; however, we do not guarantee any backups made in the shop.
Warranty: Your I.T. Guy Services offers a one month limited warranty on all computer repairs, upgrades and troubleshooting. This means if the issue from the original work order reoccurs within 30 days we will perform the service again at no charge. This warranty does not include any software issues created and/or caused by the “end user” such as virus, spyware, tampering with the settings or other non-related hardware failures etc.
